My Field to table Inquiry
My Field to table Inquiry
For our field to table we got to choose a food or product that grows. I chose to do palm oil because I wanted to find out why these animals had to suffer by their habitats getting cut down to replace them with palm oil trees. Once we had decided what we wanted to study and find out about, we got given many different websites to find out different things about our product. When we had all of our information about our product we had to think of a way to present all of our new knowledge, we had the choice of a Google slides, piktocharts, dioramas, models, art work, prezis and posters. I chose to do a poster, I added in flaps for my questions and underneath the flaps was the answer. Our success criteria was that we had to add in pictures, detailed questions, what we already knew, paragraphs and a purpose.

Calendar Art - Zen-tangle
![]() |
In class for Calendar art we learnt lots of different Zen-tangle patterns, we practised patterns. Once we had learnt some of the Zen-tangle patterns we got to choose an animal outline from the internet and trace the outline, I decided to do a dog. When we had the outline of our animal, we sectioned of parts of our animal and filled them in with Zen-tangle patterns.

Geometric Patterns
Geometric Patterns
In Maths we are learning about 2D and 3D shapes. We created a geometric patterns using diagonal lines, we used protractors to start us off by finding the centre of the circle, and then measuring out on the protractor 120 degrees. The shapes that you can see in mine are triangles, stars and hexagons. After we had ruled all of our lines, we got to colour in all of the segments.

My Strawberry poster
For our field to table inquiry we have been learning about strawberries. We got given sites, documents and videos all about strawberries. We also had a trip to Scott's Strawberry farm where we learnt all about what strawberries liked and disliked, the process of growth, what tools were used and lots of interesting facts. Once we had all of our information about strawberries, we had to present all of our new knowledge in one way. I chose to create a poster. I have a close up photo of a strawberry below, and an info graphic.
