Powerless

Powerless
In writing we got shown a short animation clip, ''Powerless'' (link below) we could retell the story or tell it from one of the characters perspective. I chose to be the inventor of a robot. Our criteria was to:
  1. Use a very short sentence.
  2. Start your sentence with an AAAWWUBBIS (Opener sentence)
  3. Ly start – Start a sentence with a ly adverb.
  4. Em – dash. A dash is used to set off information in a sentence with dramatic flair.
  5. The subject sentence. Start your sentence with the subject. (Interrupter)

Powerless
Here I lie, asleep in my small, rustic cottage in the middle of an abandoned, dry forest with my robotic friend listening to the chirping crickets and the creaking cottage  -  no power. No food.

I awake to see him gone. I rush outside with my woollen coat and glowing lantern. Following the noises until reaching a river, I see he is struggling to lift a log off one of the many small dainty fairies that brings him to life.

Quickly, I rush over to help. We pull and pull. The fairy fluttering above me, the robot falling to the ground. Out of the robot shoots out a golden fairy. If only there was a way my robotic friend could come to life without magic. I give up.

Suddenly, as I was making my back to my cabin, I hear the noises of footsteps getting closer and closer. The robots dappled lights shines through the spindly tree branches.

In through the rustic cottage door comes the robot. Maybe after all my robotic friend doesn’t need magic to come to life.

Market Day

JPEG ImageMarket Day

Today was the senior team market day to sell our products that we created. We each had our own decorated stalls to sell our products. We had our buddy class and a parents come along too. We got to choose if we were a profit or non profit  company. I chose to be non profit, all of my funds go to Ronald McDonald House.

Chocolate Advertisment

My Advertisement

For our designed to sell inquiry, for the product that we designed we had to create an advertisement advertising our product. We had to include pictures of our product, our logo and company name, the cost and where we could buy the product from. Here is my advertisement.

My Product

As part of the senior school's new inquiry, designed to sell, we had to design/make a product. I chose to do chocolate. I have three different flavours, M&M, jelly bean and marshmallow. We had to create a company name, a logo and packaging for our product. My company name is ''Milblock''. I packaged my chocolate by wrapping the chocolate up in coloured foil, I then wrapped my logo and company name over top. On the packaging we had to make sure that we included every ingredient that was in our product and allergy information. We had to bring in a few of our products for the class to try and give feedback about our product. Here is a mock up of one of my flavours of chocolate.

My Pizza Ad

My Pizza Ad

Our new inquiry is designed to sell. For Homework our task was to create our own pizza with our own toppings. Once we had decided what toppings we wanted, we had to come up with a name for our pizza. My toppings were spaghetti for the base, grated cheese and ham and it the Spaghetti Supreme. When we had done this, we then had to create an ad for our pizza on voki. Here is mine.

My Field to table Inquiry

My Field to table Inquiry

For our field to table we got to choose a food or product that grows. I chose to do palm oil because I wanted to find out why these animals had to suffer by their habitats getting cut down to replace them with palm oil trees. Once we had decided what we wanted to study and find out about, we got given many different websites to find out different things about our product. When we had all of our information about our product we had to think of a way to present all of our new knowledge, we had the choice of a Google slides, piktocharts, dioramas, models, art work, prezis and posters. I chose to do a poster, I added in flaps for my questions and underneath the flaps was the answer. Our success criteria was that we had to add in pictures, detailed questions, what we already knew, paragraphs and a purpose.
