My Matariki Poster

My Matariki Poster

For the last two weeks in class we have been focussing on Matariki. We had to combine all of our new knowledge of Matariki and combine it to make one way of presenting it. We had the choice on how we presented it. I decided to make a poster, my poster includes what Matariki is, When it is, Why it is important, what it is a time for, and facts about Matariki. Here it is.

Starry Night Art

Starry Night Art

In class we created a piece of artwork called starry night. Starry night is made my an artist named Vincent Van Gogh. I created this by starting with a black piece of paper, we had to draw with white chalk what we wanted on our picture. We had to include a tree, some houses, mountains and a moon or a sun. The technique that we had to use was double dipping, which means to dip the paintbrush in a colour and then dip it in another colour. This gives it a really cool effect at the end. I made the small houses at the bottom out of black paper for the house itself and yellow paper for the windows.
